Unveiled this summer, the new Audi Q6 e-tron is now available in two new versions, including a more accessible entry-level one. This electric car, a rival to the Tesla Model S, now starts at 66,420 euros on the French market.
The European Union is clear: in 2035, only electric cars will be authorized to be sold. Manufacturers must hurry to meet the deadline, but some are already on schedule, like those of the Volkswagen group. We think in particular of Audi, which offers a very extensive range, from the Q4 e-tron to the e-tron GT, among others.
A (slightly) cheaper version
That’s not all, because the firm with the rings also lifted the veil on the Q6 Sportback e-tron that we saw at the Paris Motor Show, but not only that. A little earlier in the year, it also presented its brand new A6 e-tron, a large electric sedan rivaling the Tesla Model S. The latter then started from 77,170 euros in the Performance version, with 367 horsepower.
A fairly high price, but now Audi has just announced the arrival of new, more affordable versions in the catalog. In its just published press release, Audi indicates that an entry-level version with a small battery is now arriving. The latter is characterized by lower power compared to previous versions with 285 horsepower (210 kW), which can be temporarily boosted to 326 hp (240 kW) Thanks to Launch Control mode, you can perform 0 to 100 km/h in just six seconds.
The battery is 83 kWh (including 75.8 kWh usable), which allows the sedan to travel up to 622 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. With the Avant estate body, the range drops to 592 WLTP kilometers on a single charge.
The latter only requires 21 minutes to go from 10 to 80%this in particular thanks to an 800 volt architecture and a maximum power of 225 kW. What to recover up to 260 kilometers in ten minutes with the sedan, and 245 kilometers for the station wagon.
This new entry-level version starts from 66,420 euros (67,920 euros for the station wagon). Prices down compared to the first versions, but still too high to hope to benefit from the ecological bonus, reserved for electric cars under 47,000 euros.
In terms of competition, let’s cite the BMW i5, which offers 582 km of autonomy and 340 hp for 76,250 euros, or a Volkswagen ID.7, which announces 618 km WLTP and 286 hp for 58,290 euros (excluding promotion).
A new 4×4 version
But this is not the only novelty announced by the manufacturer with the rings for its electric sedan. Indeed, the latter also informs us that another more high-end, and therefore more expensive, variant is in turn appearing in the catalog. This takes the name Audi A6 Sportback e-tron quattroand unsurprisingly, it has all-wheel drive, like the S6 version, but with less power.
It is here announced at 428 horsepower (315 kW), a figure which can reach 462 horsepower thanks to Launch Control mode, reducing 0 to 100 km/h to just 4.5 seconds. Regarding the battery, it displays a gross capacity of 100 kWhand 94.9 kWh net. The range can reach 711 kilometers WLTP on the sedan and 679 kilometers WLTP on the Avant station wagon.
Recharging takes place again from 10 to 80% in just 21 minutes, at a power of 270 kW, as on the Porsche Taycan. Enough to recover 280 to 290 kilometers in 10 minutes depending on the silhouette chosen.
For this four-wheel drive version, you must count 84,320 euros for the Sportback version and 85,820 euros for the station wagon. The first deliveries will start in spring 2025.
