Kader Tabet is still shocked. A few days ago, his vehicle was set on fire in the middle of the night, probably by a parent unhappy with his decisions as football coach for the under-11s of US . He comes out of silence exclusively.

It took him a week to find the strength to break the silence.

After the arson of his vehicle in the middle of the night, which almost cost the lives of his entire family, Kader Tabet, a football instructor at US Colomiers for 11 years, is devastated. “Never in my entire career have I had a single problem with a parent regarding a child, because I have always done everything to be fair to the little ones,” he explains. If nothing has yet been proven, he firmly believes that the fire in his car (and that of his colleague) was caused by a parent unhappy with his sporting choices.

The fire ravaged his car and the flames spread to his house during the night.

“The situation at the edge of the field is deteriorating more and more, continues the 46-year-old man. Educators are becoming the targets of parents for a yes, for a no.”

For him, what has mainly led to this situation is above all the money which is circulating earlier and earlier in amateur football. “The clubs promise bonuses to the families of good young people so that they sign with them rather than elsewhere. From there, the parents lose their minds. They think they are agents or coaches and target us as soon as we put their child on the bench or playing in team two.”

“We have reached a milestone in violence”

Frightened but not resigned, he prepares to return to the field after a moment of reflection. A courageous decision, which he justifies in this way. “I do not want to back down from these acts and let those who try to scare us win. I know that these are isolated acts. Today, for children's football, I almost died with my entire family “We have reached a level of violence that is beyond comprehension and we urgently need a general reconsideration.”

To support Kader Tabet and his family, a fund is available.
