Elon Musk can give away $1 million a day with his pro-Trump lottery

Billionaire Elon Musk, who openly supports Donald Trump, can continue to offer a million dollars a day to voters in seven key US presidential states with his “lottery”, a Pennsylvania judge said on Monday.

    • What you need to know about this “lottery”

      • Each participant must reside in one of the seven key states in the election: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina or Michigan.
      • He must also sign a conservative petition in favor of free speech and the right to bear arms.
      • To date, 16 people have reportedly been named winners of Elon Musk’s lottery, the latest two in Arizona and Michigan on November 4 and 5.
    • Legal or not?

This initiative by Elon Musk has sparked strong criticism, accusing him of wanting to influence the outcome of the elections by distributing his millions. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, who represented the prosecution, called the lottery a “political marketing maneuver” aimed at circumventing election laws.

    • False winners?

The day before the vote, the Philadelphia prosecutor’s judge ruled on the continuation of the lottery, considering that the winners are chosen for their ability to defend the conservative petition, and not by drawing lots. This nuance allows Musk to circumvent restrictions on electoral lotteries.
