A month after his election as head of the Côte d'Azur football district, Alain Broche is confronted with his first major incident during a match.
What do you know about Saturday's incidents?
The only report I have is that the match was stopped in the 60th minute. I asked each club for a letter to find out what happened. It is a referee who is certainly a volunteer, but considered an official, who hits a leader… There is some confusion at the end of the match. The parents returned to the field and exchanged blows.
What sanctions are possible?
The file will go to the disciplinary committee. There could be a lost match, for both clubs, or for one or the other. But it was especially the parents who behaved badly.
What does this situation inspire you?
This is my first incident. The common thread of my campaign and my mandate is the fight against violence: I was not mistaken! There has already been a serious incident between CASE and Menton [en janvier]. We are organizing ourselves to avoid incidents as much as possible. We will work with all the components.
