A fire broke out this Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Carvin, in Pas-de-Calais. Around twenty firefighters intervened to a fire in a house. The cause? The candle in the living room had not been extinguished. Details.
The tenant evacuated and unhurt
The events took place around 9:30 p.m. this Sunday in rue Pablo Picasso, in Carvin. Firefighters arrived on site for “a fire in the living room of a home”, specifies the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis).
After reconnaissance, the firefighters found that the fire had been caused by a forgotten candle in the living room. The tenant was able to be evacuated before emergency services arrived. Slightly inconvenienced by the fumes, the 54-year-old Carvinoise was still taken care of.
No transport was carried out following the victim's medical assessment. The fifty-year-old will be rehoused with the family. Police and an elected official were at the scene of the fire.
