Upsetting confidences. Invited in A Sunday in the countrysideSylvie Tellier told Frédéric Lopez about her childhood after looking at a photo of her taken when she was a child. As she has already mentioned several times in interviews and in her book Crown and prejudicereleased last May, the former beauty queen grew up without her father. “My mom finds herself all alone. There are three girls at home”she explains. Before revealing that he suffered from his parents' divorce: “Adults’ problems become children’s problems, that’s what’s not easy. We learn to grit our teeth, we learn to count.”
Sylvie Tellier grew up without a father, without money and found herself taking responsibility very early on. If the mother of Oscar, Margaux and Romeo does not grow up with the same privileges as other children, what she misses most in her life is the presence of her father. “I miss a father”she declares, her eyes clouded with tears and her voice full of emotion, before continuing: “I have sisters exceptional people who are my friends. I really grew up in a very loving family. Afterwards, as a girl, we always need a dad who tells us that you are the most beautiful in the world, that you are great, that you will succeed. I'm not saying I wasn't extraordinary in my mom's eyes, but it's not the same.”
Sylvie Tellier: is she still in contact with her father?
A few weeks after the publication of his autobiography, in the columns of CloserMiss France 2002 spoke about the absence of her father in her life: “He left when I was 10. If my mother tried to love for two, a dad is very important in the building of a child.” Before revealing that she had tried to reconnect with him several times, but without success: “I invited him to my wedding and had some contact with him in the past, but today I no longer have any. And it is not of my will”she explains. A complicated relationship.
