A week after his conviction in New York, the ex-president and candidate multiplies the threats against his adversaries, taken up within his camp with unprecedented violence and unanimity, from the base to the top of Congress.

“I will be your vengeance, your punishment,” Donald Trump had promised his supporters in the speech marking his return to the presidential campaign, his third, already a year and a half ago. And the feat of becoming at the end of May the first former American president convicted by his country’s criminal justice system did not dispel the vengeful horizon of his candidacy – on the contrary. Obtaining reparation, Trump has only been talking about this for a week since he was sentenced in New York, but in a more narrow and self-centered mode: it is no longer a question of avenging a certain flouted America but, very openly, himself even.
