“It’s going to be legend – wait for it – dary”, “challenge accepted”, “the Bro Code”… The lines of Barney Stinson, the emblematic character of “How I Met Your Mother”, have become cult over the years. In France, they were carried by the voice of François Pacôme. The actor, a great dubbing star, died at the age of 59 “of illness”, announced AFP journalist Jean-François Guyot on his X account, without giving further details.
Trained at Cours Florent, François Pacôme also lent his voice to other major series of the 2000s, such as “Seven at Home”, “Friends”, “Stargate SG-1”, “FBI: Missing”, “ Olive and Tom: The Return”, “Battlestar Galactica”, “Monk”, and “The Disastrous Adventures of the Baudelaire Orphans”.
He also starred in several successful series such as “Navarro”, “Under the Sun”, “The Holidays of Love”, “An Angry Man” and “Hôtel de Police”.
François Pacôme took advantage of the death of his mother, the great comic theater and cinema actress Maria Pacôme, which occurred on December 1, 2018, to raise awareness of the right to die with dignity. “We need real reflection on the end of assisted life, because there, we are very far from dignity and humanity,” he wrote on Facebook.
The actress, who died at the age of 95 from a long illness, had asked him “to take the steps for her for what is despicably called assisted suicide in Switzerland”. Her father, the actor Serge Bourrier, died less than a year before her.
