Ambitious with Villers-Bocage
His performances inevitably contribute to his club's good start to the season, since US Villers-Bocage is in 2nd place in the championship standings. The team could also have written a great story by qualifying for the 6th round of the Coupe de France, before being knocked out of the competition on the green carpet.
Against Lambs, smaedi November 2, he scored the hat-trick of his team's victory (3-1). For Sport in Caen, Nicolas Duhaze, who worked at Bretteville-sur-Odon and AS PTT Caen, looks back on his very good start to the season.
12 goals in 6 league matches since the start of the season. How do you explain this excellent start to the championship?
I'm continuing my momentum from last year. I have a lot of fun on the field. I regret the French Cup where I would have liked to measure myself against a much superior team.
You are coming off a big season last year. We imagine that you may have had requests at higher levels. Why did you stay in Villers-Bocage?
I have indeed had requests from higher level clubs, but sometimes it is difficult to reconcile private life and football. The Villers club has always helped me since my arrival and supported me in the complicated moments of my personal life.
He is aiming for 50 goals this season
What are your goals for this season, whether personally or collectively?
First, we're going to talk about the collective, because without them, I won't score all these goals. The passer is as important as the scorer. The objective of this season is still to move up to R1 because we are not far there, and the club deserves it too. Personally, I have to do as well, or even better, than last season, that is to say around fifty goals in all competitions.
10 goals in the last 3 matches in R2 is not common, are you able to have an objective eye on your performances?
Yes, of course, but I also know very well that it can stop at one point or another. I'm in good shape physically and mentally, so it shows on the pitch. Indeed, it is quite satisfying to be able to score so much in a few matches. This is why I look at my personal stats, but also those of my teammates. Without them, I wouldn't be able to score as much.
