According to her statements to the regional newspaper, Aël Pagny learned that Florent Pagny was suffering from lung cancer while she was at the airport, ready to board for Argentina. Faced with this terrible news, the young woman was ready to drop everything to be at his bedside. “I asked myself the question of stayingshe remembered. But mom was with him. I said to myself: 'He has his other half with him', it's good.” Knowing that the singer was “in good hands“, Aël Pagny then continued his trip to Latin America in order to manage the family farm there.

Still during her interview with Le Parisien, Aël Pagny was questioned about the reasons which encouraged her father to quickly reveal to the general public that he was suffering from lung cancer. Although the young woman confided that she comes from a very modest family, this public declaration made by her father did not surprise her. “It was logical because he was stopping his tour, and then there was nothing to hide. By speaking, we are not alone in suffering. He just warned us to prepare ourselves“, she confided. Once recovered, Florent Pagny was subsequently able to return to the stage a few months later. And according to the young photographer, the public – then aware of the state of health of the singer – had also given him a memorable welcome.There was a euphoria to see that he was still present and his voice too“, she recalled afterwards, with tenderness.
