Firesby author Wajdi Mouawad, is a great theatrical work and directing it was quite a learning experience, as explained by Elkahna Talbi who is directing this new adaptation at the Duceppe theater with her sister, Ines. Ines Talbi explains that they were approached by the Duceppe theater which only wanted to adapt it again with the eyes of the two artists.

Elkahna has never seen the play staged by others, which gave her a certain freedom to approach it in her own way with her sister. Having read it, however, she emphasizes that the theatrical staging is present at the source.

« It is written like a director would write a play. That means that there are paths that we cannot not take. »

A quote from Elkahna Talbi

The two sisters also talk about the work itself and how they felt challenged by Wajdi Mouawad's text.
