At least 2,500 animals dead in the fire on a farm in Côtes-d’Armor

At least 2,500 animals died in the fire on a farm in Lamballe-Armor, France Bleu Armorique learned this Saturday evening from the Côtes-d’Armor firefighters. They were called around 7:30 a.m. this Saturday.

A 1,400 m breeding building2 was completely destroyed by the flames. It housed 90 sows and nearly 2,800 piglets. At least 2,500 died. Some had to be euthanized, specifies the departmental fire and rescue service at France Bleu Armorique.

The three other buildings on the farm, in which 4,000 pigs were housed, were spared thanks to the action of firefighters.
