It was a match for first place between HSAM (2nd, 4 pts) and Cambrai (1st, 5 pts). Kevin Le Sausse's players negotiated this match perfectly to win rather easily (68-55).
After winning in its last two meetings, Handisport Amiens Métropole hosted leader Cambrai. In a contested first quarter, the Samarians started in the best possible way by leading 15-10 at the first opposing timeout (7'23). A strong moment during which the Amiens managed to drive the point home, scoring a 6-0 in two minutes. The match will not rebalance, however, with Guy Secheresse on the big nights widening the gap in favor of the Picards. The locals scored a 12-4 before the second timeout, bringing the score to 33-14 (15'50). The Cambraisians may have done everything necessary, but it is the Amiens who have control over the match, buoyed by a great drought. To conclude this quarter, Joly, Leclercq and Secheresse are involved in a super three-way move, allowing HSAM to lead 40-21 at halftime.
The start of the third period is comparable to that of the first. The two teams go blow for blow, and the point gap remains roughly the same, around +19. Handisport Amiens Métropole still manages to ignite this end of the quarter, by making good moves. However, the gap narrowed a little, with the Amiens leading by 14 points (56-42). Fatigue is felt in this last quarter. Indeed, only 6 points are scored while half the time of this last quarter has passed (60-44). The end of the match was managed calmly by Le Sausse's troops, who maintained the 13-point gap to win 68-55.
After this great victory, the Amiens will travel to Blanquefort on November 16. Match kick-off at 3 p.m.
