Tom Holland and Austin Butler reunited on screen, did you dream of it? Good news: the Amazon production company MGM Studios has decided to make this great idea a reality. According to the revelations of Deadlinethe two actors will both star in a film whose title is already known: American Speed. The feature film, whose screenplay was entrusted to Dan Wiedenhaupt, will notably be produced by Charles Roven, the Oscar-winning producer of the 2023 sensation film, Oppenheimer. The two actors will play the role of two racing driver brothers, Dale and Bill Whittington.
We still don't know who will play the third Whittington brother, Don – the only one not to be involved in the scandal… Indeed, we can already tell you that Dale and Bill Whittington have a unique way of financing their activities: drug trafficking, money laundering and tax evasion! This is the first time that the star of Spider-Man and the actor who caused a sensation in Dune: part two will perform against each other on the big screen. Given their rather busy schedule, filming is not expected to start right away.

The Whittington brothers really existed. They even constitute the one and only trio of members of the same family to have managed to qualify for the same race – the Indianapolis 500 –, causing a sensation because they did not really have any experience when they started. William Whittington, known as Bill, notably won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. Like his brother Dale, involved in an infamous crash in 1982, the driver was indeed one of the “IMSA gangsters”.
