The National Human Rights Council and the National Recourse Mechanism for Children are organizing a study day on “The phenomenon of exploitation of children in begging: what protection?” », on Friday June 7, at the Council headquarters in Rabat, according to a press release.
This event aims to shed light on this phenomenon and its repercussions on the rights of the child, and to formulate recommendations and proposals that would contribute to reducing the phenomenon and its causes so that children can enjoy all their rights stipulated in international agreements, notably the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This theme will be addressed through a set of approaches which mainly aim to understand this phenomenon in terms of causes, repercussions and methods of child exploitation.
The practical implementation of an integrated public child protection policy; Compatibility of the national legislative protection system with the international normative framework; In addition to the diversity of approaches and interventions, and the link of this problem with the problem of human trafficking; The problem of children’s access to rehabilitation programs.
This study day will bring together representatives of the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of the Interior, the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Economic, Social and environmental, university specialists, in addition to a number of associations working in the field of child protection.
