The Spaniards largely won against their neighbor in a preparation match for the Euro.

In a one-sided friendly match, the Spain team crushed its modest neighbor Andorra (5-0) this Wednesday in Badajoz, nine days before the start of Euro 2024 (June 11-July 11) where she will appear as an outsider.

With a reshuffled eleven, without most of its starters (Rodri, Carvajal, Yamal, Williams…), La Roja was full of confidence thanks to a hat-trick from Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal, who came on at the half-time (53rd, 66th, 73rd) and the achievements of Betis Sevilla striker Ayoze Perez (24th) and that of FC Barcelona Ferran Torres (81st).

An evening of firsts

For his first selection, Ayoze Perez, 30 years old, author of a very good second half of the season at Betis, was the most prominent player until the hour mark and perhaps earned his place in the group of Luis de la Fuente, which must be reduced from 29 to 26 elements before Friday.

The young Barça midfielder Fermin Lopez, 20, another revelation of the season behind Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, also made his debut with the A by being decisive on his team’s last three goals.

Spain will play a second friendly match against Northern Ireland on Saturday before flying to Germany, where they will face Italy, Croatia and Albania in Group B, considered the “group of the death”.
