The narrow defeat in Roanne seems a long way away. After a success in Poitiers and recently a victory last Tuesday at the Palio against ASA (68-65), the Boulazac Basket Dordogne players continued three days later with a defeat on the floor of Caen 87-83, in a close match and under the eyes of a fiery Normandy public. It took overtime to decide between the two teams.
In the first quarter, Alexandre Ménard's men took the advantage quickly and entered the game wonderfully, forcing the Caen coach to take a time-out after 4 minutes. The BBD lost the thread slightly and saw its evening opponent return to equalize. After 10 minutes of play, the BBD tied with Caen 16th overall.
In the second quarter, the Boulazacois had their heads upside down and saw Caen take off. After several points conceded, Alexandre Ménard requests a time out to stop the bleeding. The tactical move was successful and the BBD players played better and led 35-41 at halftime.
Returning from the locker room, Boulazac basketball Dordogne is on par with its opponent, in a much harsher third quarter where there are many fouls and where the refereeing body uses video to resolve disputes. If Caen offers itself the possibility of coming back friends the experience of Marcos Suka Umu and Ousman Krubally allows it to keep the advantage 56-62.
In the money-time so favorable since the start of the season for Boulazac Basket Dordogne, the desire is not there and Caen returns to the game to the point of equalizing. The end of the match will be tense and neither team can make the difference, 73-73. It will take an extension to decide between the BBD and the CBC.
The overtime is not great and Boulazac is on the ropes after 2 minutes of play. Seven points taken in a few seconds. A delay that the players will not be able to make up for. At the end of overtime, Boulazac lost 87-83 and conceded his third defeat of the season.
