Dragon Quest III HD-2D is scheduled for November 14, 2024, at a price of €59.99 on Nintendo Switch and €69.99 on PlayStation 5. Amazon is offering it for pre-order in physical version on the Nintendo console at a price of €49.99, and on the Sony console priced at €59.99.

What is this remake of Dragon Quest III?
Dragon Quest III HD-2D is a remake of the cult game, initially released on the NES in Japan in 1988, and in Europe in 1992. Although it is the third episode of the series, it is the starting point of the Elric trilogy, and therefore a prequel to the first two episodes. The remake benefits from new HD-2D graphics, new features and an interface as well as generally modernized gameplay.
The story is not to be outdone and also goes under rewriting, with a slightly reworked narrative. The game always invites players to take part in a fantastic adventure to save the world from the darkness of evil. Several years ago, the great hero Ortega failed to destroy the Archdemon Baramos. At the age of 16, Ortega's only child was summoned by the king of Aliahan to resume his father's quest and defeat Baramos. Several companions will of course join you in your quest, peppered with exploration, encounters and turn-based combat.
At this price, is the DQ III Remake a good deal?
10 € less than its price on the console stores is still a bargain. If you have had the chance to touch the original game, and its numerous releases since the 90s, you will be on familiar ground and will undoubtedly take great pleasure in returning to this universe. For newcomers, 2D-HD is an excellent opportunity to dive into the story in good conditions, especially on Switch in portable mode, which lends itself very well to the beautiful reworked graphics. An ideal starting point for people discovering one of the most influential J-RPG franchises in video game history.
