A Nissan vehicle traveling towards Estrie, heading east, and in which three people were traveling, was rear-ended by a BMW.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., near the Haut de la Rivière Nord range.
The people in the first vehicle were slightly injured. The same goes for the driver of the BMW who was alone in his car.
Numerous charges could be brought against the latter since he was not allowed to be behind the wheel, he was subject to a ban. In addition, his vehicle had to be equipped with an alcohol ignition interlock, which was not the case.
Highway 10 eastbound was partially blocked for many hours.
Fleeing from the police, he crashes into a residence
Furthermore, two residents of La Presentation had a rude awakening last night.
A little after two hours, a fleeing vehicle crashed into their home. There were no injuries, fortunately.
The driver at fault is still at large and is currently being searched by the police and their canine unit.
It all started on Highway 20 in Saint-Hyacinthe when the Sûreté du Québec wanted to intercept the driver for speeding.
The latter did not want to comply and took exit 130, boulevard Laframboise, route 137.
A few kilometers further, after a maneuver, the fugitive lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of Route 137 and Rang des Petits-Étangs where he crashed into the residence.
