More than two months after the collapse of the Maleville village hall on August 17, local associations are obliged to turn to other municipalities for their events. The town hall is still awaiting the intervention of experts.
The weeks pass and the town hall of Maleville is still waiting for expert opinions. Without this, it is impossible to put in place a policy to restore the village hall.
On August 17, around 6 p.m., the roof of the building, built almost 40 years ago, collapsed. Luckily, the room was empty. No events were organized that evening. Firefighters intervened to secure the premises, which have since been closed to the public.
The situation is likely to last several months, at least, and the town hall has organized itself to meet the needs of the population. “The events initially planned at the Maleville village hall by associations or individuals have been postponed to the neighboring town halls of Brandonnet, Drulhe and Privezac”indicates the municipality. “For routine meetings, they take place in the other community halls of Maleville.”
“We certainly have to reorganize everything, but we get there without too much difficulty,” raises Joël Leclerc, president of the Bon Accueil club in Maleville.
“It's a little disruptive at first, but we get through it. We hold our events in the community hall with around forty seats. And for meals, which generally bring together nearly 100 people, we will go to the village hall of Drulhe We at least have fallback solutions and that is the most important thing. We organize nearly six meals a year with people, if we have to go to Saint-Igest, Brandonnet or other towns. surroundings, we will find solutions.”
“So we are not overloaded”
Football, pétanque, hunting clubs, other Malville associations will also have to hold their events in neighboring towns, particularly in Drulhe.
“We are making the room available. Reservations have already started and you just need to plan in advance to organize the calendar”indicates Josiane Couzi, mayor of the town. “Previously, we already had several requests from associations in the sector, as well as individuals for weddings and other meetings. We are therefore not overloaded.”
A temporary solution, while the Maleville village hall gets a makeover.
