“The Ballon d’Or rules are still unfair”

The recent Ballon d'Or ceremony elected the Spaniard Rodri while everyone was waiting for Vinicius, were you also surprised by this choice?

There is the Ballon d'Or and the Ballon d'Or regulations and I think we could still use a few examples to improve it. At one time, we voted for goalkeepers at the same time as outfield players. Even back then, I protested, and I still pointed out that the goalkeeper does not play in the field and does not even wear the same jersey, and fortunately, that has changed. As a football fan, if my grandson asks me to choose between Pelé and Lev Yashin, what should I tell him? There, it's a bit the same thing, Rodri and Vinicius, it's not the same game.

So for you, what would be the solution?

A solution? Today we are completely off topic with our regulations and I think it needs to be corrected. After the goalkeeper, we have in football, ten outfield players. We will simplify things and put a list of 10 players with the possibility of electing two Ballon d'Ors: a golden ball for the offensive players and a golden ball for the defensive players, plus the golden ball for the goalkeeper. We are simply following a certain logic. It couldn't be more logical and above all fair.
