On the day of the events, the accused had spent several hours “scouting” in a central district of Nantes where he was “came across an empty building, under reconstruction”he said during his interrogation. He was preparing to leave in the middle of the afternoon when he saw the young girl.

He gags her then with one hand and takes him to the second floor.
On August 20, 2020, after raping and then strangling the young victim, the accused says he rubbed his body with bleach in order to“erase the traces on her”. He then started a fire, then fled.
Already convicted of rape and sexual assault
In December 2005, he had been sentenced to 18 years in prison for nine rapes, three attempts and one sexual assault clerk in Vienne, Charente-Maritime and Charente between 2001 and 2003.
He had moved to Loire-Atlantique after his release et was living together at the time of the incident near Ancenis.
