Last Sunday, the heart of Roques vibrated to the sound of vintage two-wheel engines, symbols of youth and freedom, during the Moped Day gathering, organized by the Roques And Mob club, chaired by Jean-Luc Mauzek and sponsored by the new Roques festival committee, created last September, chaired by Jean-François Vella. 400 enthusiasts and curious people attended this event, transforming Place Jean-Jaurès into an open-air museum of emblematic vehicles from past decades.

Nearly a hundred two-wheelers from the 1950s to the 1980s were on show, including a Peugeot 125 cm³ motorcycle from 1949, a Motoconfort from 1954, a sports moped, with trailer, Stromboli from 1963, Vespa Lambretta reminiscent of the ” Dolce Vita”, Vespa Cacma” from 1952, Solex from 1965, legendary Motobécane, alongside seven collector’s cars ranging from the Chevrolet Dodge 3 100 from 1948, a 203 Peugeot from 1950, to the Cadillac Deville 1960, among others.

The start of this festive day was given by Radio Ax Sud de Muret, hosted by Charlie, faithful host on the airwaves of 105.1, who presented the “Roqueuses”, in polka dot dress, headband, glamorous touch, proudly perched on their machine, offering spectators a vision full of nostalgia and charm.

The driving experience for adults and children, aboard mopeds with trailers, appealed to the impatient, ready to take all the risks at limited speed. Two-stroke engines, roaring exhausts, smoke bombs, vintage horns, “The Roques patrol”, in a tight, resounding row, accomplished its mission to thunderous applause.

The day reached its climax with a rock concert, given by Tanak.
