An armed 19-year-old man was crushed by his accomplices who were trying to flee on Wednesday May 29 in the Devèze district of Béziers. Arrested in the evening, two individuals were indicted and then placed in pre-trial detention on Sunday June 2.
They are suspected of having crushed then dragged the body of their accomplice for around twenty meters. Wednesday May 29, in the evening, an armed man got out of a stolen car, creating panic near a deal point in the Devèze district, in Béziers.
While trying to flee, his accomplices, also armed, crushed him, dragged him for several meters before abandoning the body and the vehicle and dispersing on foot. Shots were also fired.
Two individuals were arrested and then taken into police custody the same evening. According to the public prosecutor of Béziers, they are known to the courts for offenses against drug legislation, and are said to be domiciled in Var and Vaucluse.
They were heard by a magistrate on Sunday June 2. “Following contradictory statements between them, they were indicted on charges of murder, criminal association in an organized gang with a view to committing a crime and concealment of theft”details a press release from the Béziers public prosecutor’s office.
The two men were placed in pre-trial detention. The investigation continues. The prefecture specifies that it remains to identify all the protagonists, and to understand how the events unfolded.
