Thunderstorms forced a halt to play for the final 12 players on the course, but they were able to complete their round later Friday.

Stark, who finds himself at 12 under after two rounds, has made four consecutive birdies, from 10e au 13e trou.

The Swede, however, is not out of the woods in Kuala Lumpur since no less than four players find themselves one stroke behind her, namely the American Marina Alex, the South Koreans Narin An and Haeran Ryu, as well as the Taiwanese Wei- Ling Hsu.

Brooke Henderson, the only Canadian competing in this Asian tournament, for her part handed in a card of 73 (plus-1) to find herself at 44e rank after two rounds, at minus-2.

The leader after the first round, Mao Saigo, was one of the players affected by the stoppage of play. After playing nine shots under par (63) on Thursday, she handed in a card of 74 (plus-2) Friday. She now finds herself five shots from the lead.

The reigning champion, Céline Boutier, handed in a card of 69 and finds herself at minus-8 after two rounds, four strokes behind Stark.

The Frenchwoman won after nine holes of extension last year, against Jeeno Thitikul.

Hannah Green, who earned her third victory of 2024 last week in South Korea, finds herself eight shots off the lead after two rounds.
