This Wednesday, October 23, after 90 minutes of play, the match between the Red Devils and the Lion Cubs ended in a 0-0 draw. But on the sidelines, it was another event that angered David Lamiray.

On X, the chosen one condemns “with the greatest firmness the attack on Sochaliens supporters by a few individuals.

The supporters are exemplary, not them! “, adds the vice-president of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis in charge of sports.

For the moment, little information has filtered out on the nature of this attack. Still on X, NationalZone, which reports on the news from the National championships, publishes a short video. We see a cloud of smoke as the match is over.

The DIPN, interdepartmental management of the national police, confirmed this morning this altercation between Sochaux and Rouen supporters. She mentions incidents which took place around 9:40 p.m.

According to the DIPN, the Sochaux supporters did not immediately get back on their bus when the Rouennais returned to theirs. Invectives would have been uttered. The ultra Rouennais would have entered the stand of Sochaux supporters. Projectiles would then have flown.

The police officers from the intervention company who were on site had to use tear gas to separate the individuals. The Sochaliens bus was then escorted to the exit of Rouen to leave in the direction of France-Comté.

As the France 3 Normandie editorial staff clarified on the eve of the match, the prefecture had taken measures to secure this meeting.

In a decree published on Monday October 21, 204, the State services mentioned “a historic antagonism between the supporters of FC Rouen and FC Sochaux”.

A situation which, in the eyes of the prefecture, justified limiting access to FCSM (Football Club Sochaux Montbéliard) supporters to a number of 100. To avoid the violence which marred the two previous meetings in September 2023 and March 2024, firecrackers, smoke bombs as well as rockets and fireworks had also been banned.

A device which therefore did not completely succeed in preventing the occurrence of new violence during the meeting this Wednesday, October 23.
