Marathon day in Avermes – Moulins (03000)

The 36th edition of the Foulées des Isles will take place on Sunday June 2 near the Salle Isléa, in Avermes. For this new edition, 10 km, half, marathon and, new this year, a 21 km Nordic walk will be on the program.

Organized by the EAMYA (Moulins Yzeure Avermes Athletic Agreement), with the assistance of the three municipalities, the Foulées des Isles should once again bring together a good number of running enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, the queen event of athletics that is the marathon (with around thirty registered only at the end of last week) no longer seems to make us dream as much as in the past, to the great displeasure of Éric Dagois, the president of EAMYA.

“Despite the fact that this is the last surviving marathon in Auvergne, the question will really arise whether to maintain it or not for years to come, it’s a real shame…”

On the other hand, the half marathon is more attractive. There were, in fact, nearly 150 runners who sent their commitment last week.

On the novelty side, the organizers wanted to innovate by offering this year a “21 km Nordic walk” which will follow the half-marathon route.

Concerning the routes, no change, the runners will walk the streets and paths of the three towns of the Moulin agglomeration as in previous years (with departure and arrival near Isléa, in Avermes).

As a reminder, last year, the event, which mobilizes around a hundred volunteers, brought together nearly 300 participants.

For latecomers, there is still time to register on the klikego.com website, until this Thursday, 11 p.m.

Practical. More information on the organization’s website https://marathondesisles.wixsite.com.
