Cercle de Bruges and Dender separated back-to-back with a draw this Sunday (0-0). A match that only started to get going in the second half.
If one of the two teams had to win on points, it would certainly have been Cercle de Bruges this Saturday. But Groen & Zwart lacked precision in the first half, notably with a very confusing phase which should have ended in the back if Somers had not hit next to the ball (33rd).
Then, in the second, and as the match finally began to break free, it was luck that Cercle missed. First when the VAR considers that there is no penalty on Diakité after a missed exit from Verrips (66th).
Then when Kazeem Olaigbe does everything necessary to open the path to goal, but sees his dry shot crash into the post (77th). It is then Verrips himself who will work on a superb strike from Ravych (88th). Christiaan Ravych, shortly before, had to save the furniture in his rectangle.
Dender will finish the match at 10 after Jordy Soladio’s second yellow card (89th), but Cercle de Bruges will not be able to take advantage of it in the long stoppages in play that will follow. Dender takes a welcome point from Jan Bryedel.
Le Cercle, for its part, is not doing the right thing: Beerschot, after all, has won its first victory and is “only” 4 units from the penultimate place occupied by the men of a Miron Musical may well be under pressure.
