The day first began with the trial of Dominic and Cédric Larocque, accused of the murder of Manuel Paradis, which occurred in November 2022. Remember that the body was found in a rooming house and that the two men are suspected of having beat and stabbed the victim in revenge for an argument.
The Crown began presenting evidence on Tuesday. The criminal and penal prosecutor described the attack as “very violent”, while the body was found in a “shocking” state.
The Crown will attempt to demonstrate over the coming weeks that the accused planned and committed the murder, using testimony and evidence.

The second trial of the day concerned the murder of a Moroccan student, which occurred in Stoneham in 2022, and in which Éric Guénette is suspected of having participated.
If it was Kevin Prévost-Bouchard who opened fire during a cocaine transaction, the Crown wants to demonstrate that the accused knew the intentions of his alleged accomplice and that he helped him achieve his objective.
The defense, for its part, maintains that Guénette was duped and that he did not intend to participate in the murder.
A troubled day
The two trials affected the course of the day at the Quebec courthouse. Arrangements had to be made to prevent the juries of the two trials from crossing paths in the corridors of the institution.
