Long blonde hair, high cheekbones and full lips… In Worshipmini-series behind the scenes of Loft Story, Marie Colomb looks exactly like Loana. The 29-year-old actress transformed herself to play the reality TV star.
A career launched in 2017
When we meet her in a Parisian hotel for an interview, the young, slender woman presents herself as she is in real life, with shoulder-length brown hair and light makeup. In front of us, Marie Colomb confides that she felt a real responsibility in playing the role of Loana. “It puts pressure because it’s no longer just a question of the ego of the actor who wonders if he’s playing well or badly. You have to represent the person well. For you it’s fiction, for him it’s her life”, underlines Marie Colomb whose interpretation of Loana is absolutely stunning. In addition to her physical resemblance to the star, the actress touches our hearts with each line, each look, perfectly transcribing Loana’s sensitivity and intelligence.
The role of Loana is far from the very first for Marie Colomb, who began her film career in 2017 in the film One two three by Mathieu Gari. Four years later, in 2021, the actress from Bordeaux plays in The Magnetics directed by Vincent Maël Cardona. She plays Marianne, a young woman who becomes closer to Philippe, a radio enthusiast in the 1980s. The accuracy of her interpretation allows her to win the jury prize and the audience prize for best supporting actress at the Jean-Festival. Carmet. She then stood out in the feature film The beasts by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, where she opposite Marina Foïs and Denis Ménochet.
On television, Marie Colomb shines in 2020 in the mini-series Laëtitiaadapted from the novel by Ivan Jablonka, and broadcast on France 2. Three years later, she played in Followa series directed by Louis Farge… the director of Worship ! It was he who immediately thought of Marie Colomb to play Loana. “It was obvious to me because I had already worked with her on Follow and I said to myself: ‘Okay, I have a great actress on my hands,'” he tells us. “Marie has something so human about her. She will work a lot indoors to bring out things with simplicity and that’s what I wanted for the character of Loana.” A successful bet!
