Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, expected in Brussels on Thursday, will participate in a meeting of NATO defense ministers, said Alliance spokesperson Farah Dakhlallah.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte “will welcome President Zelensky on October 17 during the meeting of Alliance defense ministers,” this spokesperson said on X. The two men will hold a conference joint press release at 6:20 p.m. (4:20 p.m. GMT), she added.
Volodymyr Zelensky affirmed Thursday in Brussels that his “victory plan” aimed to place his country in a position of strength against Russia in order to be in a good position for negotiations.
“Our plan is to strengthen Ukraine, to be strong and to be ready for diplomacy,” he said upon arriving at a European Union summit bringing together the leaders of the 27 member countries.
