On Thursday, October 17, employees of several branches of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) are on strike for a period of 24 hours. This decision was taken as the union representing the workers criticizes the state-owned company for refusing to address certain issues at the negotiating table.
Remember that discussions between the union and employer parties have been underway for 22 months now.
Despite the desertion of employees, 64 SAQ branches are accessible today. In the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, you can go shopping at the following stores:

For its part, the SAQ indicates, via its website, that it takes note of the decision of the union of its store employees to launch the strike.

“We would like to emphasize that we have made good progress in recent weeks and that we have reached an agreement on the entire normative aspect.
Last week, we began negotiating the monetary aspect with the submission of a first salary offer. A second meeting is planned for this Friday with the union with whom we hope to quickly reach an agreement.
Since the beginning of these negotiations, our goal has been to reach an agreement that is satisfactory both for the SAQ and for our employees. This negotiation has been going on for 21 months now and it is time for it to be resolved, for the benefit of our employees and our customers.
Our business continuity plan will be deployed to offer our customers limited access to our network for the duration of the strike. Moreover, we specify that today, some of the branches will open their doors.
During the morning, the complete list of branches and agencies open today will be available on SAQ.COM and we invite our customers to consult it before visiting a branch.
