The Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, broadcast on his X account a short video filmed by a drone showing an injured man and which he presents as images of the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinouar, just before he was killed in a military operation in Gaza.
The man, seated in the armchair of a gutted living room on the first floor of a partially destroyed building, has his face hidden by a cloth and has in his hand an object which he throws at the drone. According to Avichay Adraee, these images are those of Yahya Sinouar “a few moments with his elimination”.
“Yesterday, our forces spotted three saboteurs in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, fleeing from house to house. They immediately engaged in combat. Yahya Sinouar fled alone into a building, where we swept the area using a drone.”wrote the Israeli spokesperson.
“In his last moments, Sinouar was seen, masked, throwing a wooden plank towards the drone. After identifying him inside the building, we opened fire in his direction,” he explained. “We found him carrying a bulletproof vest, armed with a pistol, and in possession of 40,000 shekels“, or a little over 10,000 US dollars.
