The blaze left one victim, confirmed the Sûreté du Québec.
“The body of a person has been discovered,” said Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

A suspect has reportedly been encountered in this case.
This is the second fatal fire in 24 hours in Quebec. A body was found in the rubble of a suspicious fire at a chalet in the municipality of Beaumont, east of Lévis, Tuesday morning. It was citizens of L’Île-d’Orléans who contacted the authorities around 6:30 a.m. when they saw smoke on the other side of the river.
At this location, firefighters also discovered the body after the fire.
Although an investigation is still underway, the theory of voluntary action is a possibility considered by the SQ.
