“I can’t wait!” says the Roxton Pond athlete who had surgery on his right shoulder for the third time in the spring. Do I feel 100% ready? There’s nothing like trying…”

And if all goes well in Donnacona, Bisons fans will see him in action for the first time Saturday evening when Nicolet’s REEQ Isolation arrives at the Léonard-Grondin Sports Center.

One thing is certain, Lauzon passed the first test successfully. Last Saturday, he collected an assist in the Farnham Cuisines Action victory against the Waterloo Maroons in a Senior Elite Hockey League match.

Lauzon attended two of the Bisons’ first four games. He feels like he’s joining a good hockey team.

“The injuries have been hurting since the start of the season, but with a full roster, there is no shortage of talent. I also like the idea that we have two good goalkeepers, something which is quite rare after all.

The caliber of play in the Senior AAA Hockey League also seems to appeal to him.

“It’s good hockey. But there’s nothing like playing, like being on the ice, to judge. I will be able to tell you more after the matches this weekend.”

— Felix Lauzon

One thing is clear, the former Victoriaville Tigres, Drummondville Voltigeurs and UQTR Patriotes will not have time to be bored over the next few months, he who also lends a hand to the staff of Indigo men’s hockey coaches. Not to mention that he teaches geography and history at La Découverte high school in Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, where Bisons coach Jonathan Lessard himself teaches.

Lots of ice cream

We have already told you, the leaders of the Bisons are betting a lot on Félix Lauzon. Jonathan Lessard has also planned to insert him between Vincent Chapleau and Gaël-Mukeba Lubwele, on the first trio, in Donnacona.

“Félix has what it takes to be a dominant player in our league,” says Lessard. He’s going to play on the power play, on the penalty kill, he’s going to have plenty of ice. He also excels on faceoffs and that’s a big asset.”

The Bisons (2-2) will play their second of five two-game weekends this season this weekend. Which means both goalkeepers will see action. Marc-Antoine Dufour will therefore face the shots of Métal Perreault and Frédéric Piché, those of REEQ Isolation.

But there are still players on the sidelines. Like Jacob Graveline (concussion), Jonathan Delorme (ankle) and Pierrick Martel (shoulder), who did not finish the last match.
