The explosion of a natural gas pipe with a diameter of 100 mm in a construction site, in the district of Ennasr, in the governorate of Ariana, caused a state of panic among a number of people last night of local residents, according to what was confirmed by the regional director of Civil Protection in Ariana, Brigadier General Moez Ben Khalifa, today, Thursday October 17, 2024.
Ben Khalifa explained that a 100 mm diameter gas pipe was damaged in a construction site in the Ennasr district, which resulted in large quantities of gas leaking, causing high pressure accompanied by a loud explosion of sound, causing panic among the citizens.
Ben Khalifa, said temporary preventive measures had been taken and the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company was contacted, and sent technical teams to cut off the gas and empty the gas distribution network.
According to the same source, around four in the morning, all the teams had finished their work and the citizens had returned home, after being asked to leave their homes, in anticipation of any emergency.
