Ligue 1: The spectacular new Ligue 1 trophy revealed

The LFP unveiled this Thursday the new Ligue 1 trophy which replaces the Hexagoal and it is spectacular and successful to say the least.

Awarded for the first time at the end of the 2006-2007 season, the Hexagoal trophy is no more. After reviewing its visual identity in recent months, with a new logo for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, the LFP unveiled its new trophy this Thursday for the winner of Ligue 1. A new trophy which does not yet have a name, but which is very successful.

On the PSG side, Warren Zaire-Emery and Marquinhos had the privilege of posing with this imposing and spectacular new trophy. A gold-plated trophy, with a sphere at the top, supported by 1-shaped columns, which draw the V of victory in pairs. The base is hexagonal with the names of all the winners of the French championship since its origin in 1932/33.

The new trophy measures 54cm and weighs just under 10kg. It was imagined by the French artist Mathias Kiss and designed by the Christofle factory, a famous Parisian goldsmith since 1830 and whose workshops are now in .

The LFP also revealed a behind-the-scenes video of the creation of its new trophy (see below). If the League is open to criticism on many points, we can credit it for having worked very well on this issue of the new trophy, which we like and which we hope to see in the hands of Marquinhos next May.
