Ligue 1 unveils a new champion trophy to replace Hexagoal

The LFP unveiled this Thursday a new trophy for Ligue 1, which replaces the Hexagoal. It is a work by the French artist Mathias Kiss with the Christofle goldsmith house.

The Hexagoal, which existed since 2007, is over. With the change in visual identity made at the start of the season, Ligue 1 has a brand new champion trophy. This was unveiled Thursday October 17 by the Professional League (LFP). This work, by the French artist Mathias Kiss with the goldsmith house Christofle, represents a sphere supported by columns in the shape of the number 1. The base, which is none other than a hexagon, displays the prize list since 1933.

“Faithful to his artistic convictions, the contemporary artist sought to mix references to French classicism and more modern inspirations in order to offer an object which symbolizes victory,” underlines the LFP about Mathias Kiss. This new trophy, measuring 54 cm and 10 kg, does not yet have a name. “It should be known in the coming weeks,” says the League.

“Modern breath”

Ligue 1 also revealed what appears to be the new medals that will be awarded to the champions of this 2024-2025 season. This is a repeat of the championship logo.

For Vincent Labrune, president of the LFP, these creations are a “modern breath of fresh air which corresponds perfectly to our objective of establishing our club football as the embodiment of French excellence”.
