It’s a duo that sparks. Muriel Robin and Anne Le Nen are starring in the second season of Master Crimesthis Thursday on TF1. After a successful first season – the series directed by Marwen Abdallah was the second most viewed French fiction on TF1 in replay in 2023 after HPI – the shock duo reforms for six new episodes.

Always accompanied by Captain Barbara Delandre, Louise Arbus will have to solve a new series of crimes even more twisted than the previous ones. In the first episode, the explosive-tempered psychocriminology professor and her students find themselves faced with a surprising murder. A man is discovered hanged in a therapeutic painting workshop, reproducing the pose of Rodin’s The Thinker…

Master Crime returns for a season 2. The public was there, is that a relief?

Muriel Robin : Yes, we are very happy! Now, we know that we are dubbed by the public. We are absolutely delighted at the idea of continuing to make people happy. Because this second season is even funnier than the first. The authors pushed the sliders even further.

Anne Le Nen: It’s true that we dare to do even more twisted things. In the first episode alone, we go hard! In Master Crimesthere is a real balance between thriller and comedy. It’s a perfect mix of psychocriminology, in-depth investigations, all in a very light tone. This is what makes the series strong.

Louise is going to be even brighter

Muriel Robin

What will happen for Louise Arbus this season?

M.R. : As the investigations get even more twisted, Louise will be even more brilliant. But she’s going to be a little bothered because Oscar would like to retire and make a life without her. How will she react? Because even if she is very free and very modern, Oscar matters to her.

As for Captain Delandre, she seems much more relaxed.

A.L.N. : Barbara splits the armor. She takes her relationship with Théodore to the next level. She is as sensitive in her personal life as she is tough on the field. It’s all his ambivalence and what makes him endearing. A lot of things are going to happen with Théodore and we are going to see his flaws and his weaknesses.

When we say two strong women, it’s a pleonasm

Muriel Robin

Although they are quite opposites, Barbara and Louise are both strong and independent women. Is it important to emphasize this?

A.L.N. : Yes, they are two free and strong women. That’s why they respect each other.

M.R. : I have the impression that when we say two strong women, it’s a pleonasm because all women are. Do we say two strong men?

When we say ‘Motor’, I have Louise facing me, not Muriel

Anne Le Nen

The students are still as diligent as ever. Will Louise continue to tickle them?

M.R. : Yes, always! We also continue to follow them, they each have their own story and personality. I don’t know if it shows on screen, but on set, we’re a family. There is a lot of affection, respect and admiration. We are in total harmony.

A.L.N. : Just like the investigations, the characters in the series are really all original. Among young people, there are four particular personalities. There is real human wealth, everyone can have something to eat.

It is often said that it is difficult to work as a couple. But for you, it is truly a joy.

M.R. : Yes, absolutely!

A.L.N. : Yes, it’s a joy. And we easily forget ourselves to slip into the skin of our characters. When we say “Motor”, I have Louise facing me, not Muriel. Fortunately because otherwise it wouldn’t be pleasant!

“Master Crimes” on TF1: who is Thaïs Vauquières, Muriel Robin’s young recruit?

What are your projects?

A.L.N. : I wrote my first unit on resilience. And I have a play that should see the light of day in 2025 if all goes well. We have also just written a feature film for the cinema that Muriel will team up with Marwen Abdallah. It’s a comedy for adults.

M.R. : It has to work, otherwise I will truly be blacklisted from cinema forever! (Laughs) As for me, I’m going to star in a first film called Magistrate. It’s a quirky comedy.
