In its morning bulletin, Météo- places the Cher department on yellow alert (level 2 out of 4) for storms, from 6 p.m.

This Wednesday will have been sunny in the Cher, and a good part of France. However, no temperature records were broken this year. The year 2023 remains on the podium, with 34.3°C in Épineuil-le-Fleuriel, October 2, 2023.

A short-lived return of good weather today, since the rain will return tomorrow. “Autumn Cévennes episode requiring particular vigilance due to the very heavy accumulations of rain expected”. Météo-France places the department on yellow thunderstorm alert, like the entire western half of the country.

Vigilance will begin at the end of the afternoon, at 6 p.m., should end at midnight, and resume at the end of the morning this Thursday. The bulletin announces between 20 to 40 minimeters of rain. In terms of temperatures, Thursday will be cooler, ranging from 14°C for the minimum, to 19°C or even 20°C in the afternoon.

In the rest of France, orange vigilance, thunderstorms and rain-flooding, concerns several departments of the South (formerly PACA), and New Aquitaine regions: Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Corrèze, , the Lot, Lozère, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Tarn.

Only the departments of Occitanie will remain on orange alert tomorrow. Residents of the Atlantic coast will need to remain attentive, with wave-submersion vigilance.
