A few hours after seeing the New York Jets acquire pass catcher Davante Adams, the Buffalo Bills in turn made a move on the transaction market.

In a trade with the Cleveland Browns, the New York State team acquired the services of wide receiver Amari Cooper. The transaction also involves a swap of draft picks.

With this addition, the Bills fill one of their biggest gaps and add a great target for quarterback Josh Allen.

Aged 30, Cooper has collected 250 yards on 24 receptions and two touchdowns since the start of the year with the poor Browns, who boast a record of one victory and five losses.

Cooper will complement a receiver group that includes rookie Keon Coleman and speedman Khalil Shakir, in addition to tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.

In 2023, the receiver from Miami, Florida, had the best season of his career in terms of yards gained through the air with 1,250. He also scored five touchdowns.

During his 10-season career with the Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders, Cooper caught 691 passes for 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns.

Vikings add depth

The Minnesota Vikings were also active in the trade market Tuesday, as they acquired running back Cam Akers from the Houston Texans.

They gave up a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft to get their hands on the 25-year-old athlete and a conditional seventh-round pick at the same auction.

In five games with the Texans, Akers rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on 40 carries. He also caught four passes for 16 yards.

This is also the second year in a row that the Vikings have acquired Akers. The Minnesota club obtained him from the Los Angeles Rams in 2023.
