The population of the Laurentians is invited to nominate volunteers who stand out for their commitment to their community through organizational or community actions, by nominating them for the Hommagevoluntaire-Québec awards from the Government of Quebec. The application must be submitted no later than December 5.

It is possible to submit nominations in three categories: Volunteer, which honors people aged 36 or over; Organization, which recognizes the action of non-profit organizations which support volunteer commitment within their community then the category and Young volunteer – Claude-Masson prize, which aims particularly to highlight the commitment of people aged 14 to 35 years old.

The nomination form and all necessary information are available at Quebec.ca/volunteer awards. An independent selection committee will choose around forty winners.

2024 marks the 28th awards ceremony during Volunteer Action Week 2025. According to data from the Institute of Statistics of Quebec, nearly 77% of Quebecers aged 15 or over volunteer, whether either in the form of supervised activities or informal activities. On average, each volunteer devotes 189 hours to volunteering annually, which is equivalent to 533,100 full-time jobs.
