Weather report

A rain-storm line will cross the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in the second part of the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Locally heavy precipitation is possible with 40 to
50 mm locally, gusts up to 70 km/h and moderate electrical activity, from the east of Bouches-du-Rhône to the Alpes-Maritimes via the Var.
These significant intensities will affect coastal towns, particularly from the Var coast to the Côte d’Azur, before evacuating inland in the morning, losing intensity.
On Wednesday, showers could persist in the interior of the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes. The coastline will also be affected by showers which should remain light to moderate.
Uncertainties still remain on both the duration of the rains, the intensities under storms but also on the expected accumulations. On Thursday, new bursts of rain and storms should also occur throughout the region.

The prefect of Var calls for vigilance when traveling and to exercise caution near rivers.

During stormy rains, significant runoff can occur:

do not cross fords, submersible bridges or underpasses or on a flooded road:

30 cm of water is enough to carry away a car.

Cautionary instructions when approaching a storm:

– shelter objects sensitive to wind
– do not shelter under trees
– avoid walks in the forest and near the coast
– avoid using telephones and electrical appliances

Cautionary instructions during rain-flooding:

– do not enter a submerged road on foot or by car.

– do not approach watercourses or areas usually flooded
– monitor the situation by consulting www.vigicrues.gouv.fr
– do not go down into basements.
