The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, indicated Monday during an oral question session in the House of Representatives that the prices of 169 additional medicines will be revised downwards.
In response to a question from the Haraki group on “the increase in drug prices”, the minister specified that the reduction will be recorded after the publication of the list in the official bulletin, adding that the percentage of the price reduction will reach nearly 59% for certain drugs to treat chronic diseases.
The minister also noted that the prices of all medicines have fallen following their exemption from domestic and import VAT, specifying that the prices of some 4,500 generic medicines have fallen, and that this measure has been carried out in conjunction with manufacturers.
