A multi-dimensional Israeli response could take place after UNIFIL warned of a “catastrophic” regional conflict in Lebanon. The Lebanese Health Ministry announced at least 15 people killed last Saturday in Israeli raids.
Tensions are rising again. At least 15 people were killed yesterday in Israeli raids, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health and a report of 5 peacekeepers injured in 48 hours. Emmanuel Macron spoke yesterday by telephone with Nabih Berry, president of Lebanon’s Chamber of Deputies and calls for an immediate ceasefire in the country as Hezbollah fired around 320 projectiles yesterday towards Israel during Yom Kippur.
A response with different targeting
For Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the French military mission to the UN, Israeli reprisals will be multidimensional. “That is to say, cyber strikes as well. Many Iranian computer sites have been blocked. The second part of the targeting, as was the case when the Hamas leader was killed in the center of Tehran. Israel is very well infiltrated in Iran and is capable of doing very direct harm to Iranian officials. And third, probably very targeted strikes on the launch sites so that Israel is not hit in return.
