New stage of the investigation in the Iris Coëtmen case with the organization of a reconstruction, this Tuesday, October 8, in the city center of , as revealed by the newspaper Ouest- and confirmed by the prosecution from Lorient. The body of this 23-year-old young woman was found on the morning of May 27, 2023, in Blavet, in the Saint-Guénaël district, in . She had injuries to her head and face. This Tuesday afternoon, part of the Rohan quay, in front of the police station and the sub-prefecture up to the lift bridge, was cut off to traffic and barricaded to carry out the reconstruction. The main suspect, Christophe Raule, 49, in pre-trial detention at Ploemeur prison, “was present and participated in the reconstruction”, confirms Morgan Loret, the lawyer for Iris Coëtmen’s family.

Iris was out in bars with friends on the evening of May 26, 2023. We find her on video surveillance images at 4:25 a.m., in front of the Lorient sub-prefecture and the police station. As she falls from a low wall, a man emerges, inspects the surroundings, circles around the unconscious young woman, grabs her, hoists her onto his shoulder and disappears from the camera’s field of vision. Christophe Raule, already sentenced in 2015 to nine years in prison for rape, was identified a few weeks later. His DNA was found under the young woman’s nails. He finally admitted to having put her in his van to help her. A white van was present at the scene of the reconstitution this Tuesday, October 8. The Lorient public prosecutor’s office specifies that “the investigation continues”.
