Golden Horse Goes to Cannes, a program that promotes Taiwanese projects

Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Taiwan’s Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID) announce the first Golden Horse Goes to Cannes event on May 16, 2024 during the Cannes Film Market. Teams from five “work in progress” projects will be on site to present their work. Their authors are former nominees and winners of the Golden Horse Awards.

Presentation of the projects

The Chronicles of Libidoists by Yang Ya-che is inspired by the fairy tale The Little Mermaid and the Chinese legend of the white snake. It will be worn by Hong Kong actor Will Or

Dead Talent Society, John Hsu’s second film, is a comedy set after death. A teaser has already been produced and Sony Pictures is committed to the project.

Kung Fu is an adventure film by director and screenwriter Giddens Ko, in project for ten years.

A Foggy Tale by Chen Yu-hsun takes place during the “White Terror” period in 1950s Taiwan. Here too, Will Or will play the main role.

Daughter’s Daughter by Huang Xi is a drama about a mother-daughter relationship, shot in New York in a modest format.
