Kendji Girac spoke for the first time this Friday since his gunshot wound. The 27-year-old singer apologized to his fans on Instagram, saying in particular that he was “treating and resting to come back even stronger.”

“10 years ago, I won The Voice thanks to you […] I wanted, on this special day that changed my life, to apologize to you because I know all the pain and worry I may have caused you,” Kendji Girac wrote this Friday on Instagram, who explains how already be “apologized to [sa] family and [son] team.” This is the first time that the 27-year-old singer has reacted publicly since his gunshot wound in April which led to his hospitalization. His life-threatening condition was then in jeopardy.

“I want to leave this period of my life behind me”

“I thank you for the unfailing love you have given me for 10 years now […] I’m treating myself, I’m resting to come back even stronger thanks to you and I want to leave this period of my life behind me”, also confided Kendji Girac, who “thanks the sky to be alive”.

The singer was transported to Bordeaux hospital on the night of Sunday April 21 to Monday April 22, after being found by emergency services sitting on a chair near his caravan, in Biscarosse, with a wound in his chest.

A media surge and questions about the circumstances of the tragedy which led the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan, Olivier Janson, to speak on April 25, based on the ballistic expertise and the stories of the singer and of his partner, Soraya Miranda.

Kendji Girac’s partner refuted any blackmail for the singer’s suicide

The magistrate had notably revealed that the singer was indeed the author of the shooting and had mentioned – still on the basis of the hearing of the winner of The Voice by the investigators from his hospital room – the suicide blackmail that he allegedly made his wife suffer, as well as his addiction to alcohol and his cocaine use.

She has since refuted the prosecutor’s comments last Sunday. “Kendji never blackmailed me into committing suicide, let me be clear. It never existed. I never suffered the slightest violence whatsoever from him. I am categorical,” said said Soraya Miranda in the daily Le Parisien.

The singer’s entourage also said they “regret” that elements of his private life were disclosed during this press conference. An opinion shared on Sunday by Soraya Miranda: “I was very surprised that so many details of our story were revealed without us wanting it. For me, it was not necessary.”
