Already in its 3rd edition in its current format, the event continues to gain in popularity if we are to believe the environmental engineer and event manager, Étienne Lévesque. “Last year we received over 300 people and we expect to have a little more this year,” he emphasizes.

Activities for all

The winning formula for this event provides, as in past years, a happy mix of exhibitors, speakers and artisans. “It is to promote local purchasing that a variety of local artisans were invited,” explains Étienne Lévesque.

The day begins with a coffee and brioches with the mayor. This will then be followed by the presentation of a children’s play on recycling entitled Recovery and Dragon presented by Tricentris. Children can also take a pony ride and take part in a kite workshop.
For older children, a conference on the Doncaster River watershed will be followed by a dinner conference with the owner of Ferme Impossible Dominic Lamontagne. In the afternoon, ornithologist Martin Picard will present a conference on birds.

Get informed

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to discover the different exhibitors to obtain information on the main environmental issues in the region and discuss possible solutions for a greener future. Several municipal committees will be on site to talk about their activities and chat with visitors, including the Sainte-Lucie Outdoor Club, the Sainte-Lucie feeding community, the trails committee and SEPAQ. and Abrinord. “Municipal councilors will be on hand to talk about cyanobacteria and riparian areas,” says Mr. Lévesque.

Trees will also be distributed free of charge to interested visitors and it will be possible to purchase plants on site. Also, door prizes will be drawn at the end of the day.

The activities will take place at the village community hall (the church) located at 2024 chemin des Hauteurs between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
