The former president and candidate for the next election estimated that the Gaza Strip, bombarded for a year by the Israeli army, had the potential to be “even better than Monaco” to its reconstruction. “It could be the most beautiful place, with its weather, the water, everything, the climate could be beautiful”launched the Republican candidate for the White House during an interview given on the occasion of the first anniversary of October 7.
“I think it could be even better than Monaco”a wealthy principality on the Côte d’Azur, added the former Republican head of state, without mentioning the humanitarian crisis in the territory or the toll of Palestinian civilian victims. “I’ve been saying it for years […] It could be the best thing in the Middle East.”
Donald Trump also declared that he had already visited the site “before the attacks” and remembers saying to himself: “Wow, look at that, they have land facing the ocean […] They never took advantage of it”before correcting himself: “No, there is no ocean”because it is indeed the Mediterranean Sea which runs along the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the conflict with Israel, Donald Trump posed as the absolute defender of Israel during the outbreak of war with Hamas. In recent months, however, he has said “not exactly sure if you love the way” of which the Hebrew State is leading its offensive.
